hair colour

The first safe commercial haircolor was created in 1909 by French chemist Eugene Schuller, using the chemical paraphenylenediamine. Hair coloring is very popular today, with over 75% of women coloring their hair and a growing percentage of men following suit. How does haircolor work? It's the result of a series of chemical reactions between the molecules in hair, pigments, as well as peroxide and ammonia, if present.
What is Hair?
Hair is mainly keratin, the same protein found in skin and fingernails. The natural color of hair depends on the ratio and quantities of two other proteins, eumelanin and phaeomelanin. Eumelanin is responsible for brown to black hair shades while phaeomelanin is responsible for golden blond, ginger, and red colors. The absence of either type of melanin produces white/gray hair.

nail art

Manicures generally include shaping the nails, cuticle care, hand massage and polishing and giving a glossy finish to the nails. Professionally manicured nails look neat and very attractive. Nail art is an artistic process, which involves special care of the nails. The nails can later be decorated with designs and colors that can range from plain prints and glitter to crystal and abstracts. The nail is the canvas on which people can also use fragile dried flowers or even smiley stickers or diamantes.
A nail stylist uses various techniques in order to attain the preferred effect. Acrylic nails are stuck on the nails in order to extended them. This works best for people who do not have long nails or chipped nails. The nails can then be polished with any color and smoothened to give it a natural look. Nail art is an imaginative process and people can get their nails painted or stick different gems or water based decals.

lips beauty

As women age, the groove on the upper lip flattens and the amount of pink tissue showing decreases. Such changes have led a growing number of women to seek lip augmentation procedures.

The Aesthetic Surgery Center in Naples, Fla., and colleagues studied the results of 25 patients who underwent lip augmentation with segments of their own sternocleidomastoid, a muscle running along the side of the neck, and the connective tissue that overlies it.

Many industries offer apprenticeship programs and the Hair Profession fits into this category, which is an ideal opportunity for those aspiring to be hair stylists. The apprenticeship has many advantages. Most from a monetary point of view because it allows you to earn some money while you are learning. This helps towards your school costs, which can be costly. Another great advantage is you are gaining experience while you are learning. This makes a big difference once you graduate your program and are ready to enter the workforce on your own. You will find this to be a comfortable setting because you have already been exposed to the work environment. Chances are you will want to remain working at the location where you took your apprenticeship, but for higher pay of course.
During your apprenticeship the basic routine is that, you will work at a Salon and attend School as well. Therefore, you may work for three days and go to classes for two. To become a qualified hairdresser then you need to obtain your NVQ, which is the National Vocations Qualification. Various levels must be completed. The opportunity for apprenticeship in this program is for those ages 16 and over.

short hair

It's surprising the way some people treat their hair. Instead of giving it the respect it deserves, they tug at it with their hair brush, secure it with plain elastic bands that stick to the hair, lick it, chew it, clean their inky hands with it, stick their pens in it, wipe that excess eye-liner off on it, and while shampooing, rub it, scrub it, pull it and generally bash it around before stuffing it under the full blast of a hair dryer. Phew! It's shameful.

Hair Brushing 101
"I'm a bad girl when it comes to brushing. I brush top down. I know, I know, it's a sin. But hey, I gotta have some sins since I don't drink coffee. What I really like to do is bend over and start brushing at the nape of my neck. My brush usually will go for about five inches before there is some resistance. I take the brush out and start again at the nape at a slightly different spot and do another stroke until I feel resistance."
